I was out in my garden today raking away the dead leaves. This job always makes me smile because it is such a victory to see the new flowers peeking out of the ground – overcoming the blanket of winter to welcome the sun. It reminds me of teaching design – students overcoming the flood of knowledge and struggle to finally blossom into their own potential…like this little blossom and the ladybug – struggling to get free of one last leaf so it can spring into the sun.
This was Easter weekend in Edmonton…full on snow…one week ago.
Last night I found flowers in my garden. 🙂
I come from a line of strong Irish women, full of laughter, insatiably curious, warm, and loving. For many years, I have thought I would go back to Ireland but did not know how or when. The mystery is about to unfold.
